I have a client that wants to install the LexFloatServer on Windows Server 2008 32-bit (I know, it’s a very old version but that is what they are using…).
Is it compatible and if so, which LexFloatServer verson would I need to download (currently we are deploying the latest version 4.14.3 which is minimum version Windows 10).
Starting from version 4.13.2, LexFloatServer requires at least Windows 10 for compatibility. To ensure it works on Windows Server 2008 (32-bit), we recommend trying LexFloatServer version 4.13.1, which may still support that environment.
Hi Anees,
Thanks for your reply. I have created a Windows 2008 32-bit server VM to test on but when I try with this version (the x86 version) to activate a licence or create the service I am getting the error message that LexFloatServer is not a valid Win32 application…
Thanks for your advice.
Helen
Hi Anees, yes, thats what I was trying to say above. I’m was testing with v.4.13.1, using the x86 exe from this download and this gave me the not valid Win32 application error.
But out of interest, I also tried downloading the earliest version still available for download, v. 4.1.0. and this version seems to be more compatible, I’m not getting the Win32 error but when I try to activate an activation code I get error 92 - I am not sure what that is as it doesn’t exist in recent documentation.
I can send you a screenshot if it’s useful.
So I guess somewhere in between 4.1.0 and 4,13,1 is the last good version…
Regards,
Helen
Regarding error 92, the issue was indeed resolved in later versions. However, since support for Windows Server 2008 (32-bit) was eventually discontinued, we will review the last version that both addressed this issue and remained compatible with that operating system. We will keep you informed.
