Prepackaged metadata for License Policy

Hi,

I can see that it’s possible to enter “Required Metadata Keys” for a License Policy. Is there someway to enter prepackaged metadata directly into the License Policy? I.e. metadata keys with values. The idea is that for a single Product different License Policies grants different software features.

Hi Johan,

A policy just acts as a blueprint, and allows you to set the default values for existing fields. For custom fields (metadata) there is no support for setting default values, only there existence can be forced.

You will need to set them for each license key (since you will be using web API to generate the keys, they can be hardcoded in the script).

For the same product, multiple licenses (with same policy) may allow for different features, so decision is left at the license level.
