Difference between Products and Version

What’s difference between Products and Version?
Is Product just working like a “Folder” who groups different version, and not related to License management itself?

Because, license is managed by Product.dat and Version GUID, but both of them seems to be connected to Version, not to Product.
Is it fine to activate more than one Version of the same Product on the same machine at the same time?

Product just works as grouping with properties which versions inherit by default.

Product.dat is actually ProductVersion.dat

Yes, provided they are in a separate process. Multiple versions in a single app are not supported, but if in different apps on a same machine their is no issue.
